Horseshoe shortage is result of attempts to offset effects of planets in retrograde

There were 4 planets in retrograde in the month of August and it was Horseshoe suppliers that were hit the hardest.

It is uncommon for 4 planets to be in retrograde at the same time. Fearing the bad fortune this would bring, millions took drastic measures in attempt to offset the effects. Most notably, hoarding of good-luck charms, such as horseshoes to nail above their front doors.

“It was madness. I have customers that need horseshoes for actual horses. I had to turn them away,” Said Horace Lovelace, owner of Horace’s Feed and Tackle. “I think about all those horses going without shoes. No one thinks about the horses.”

Larry Granger, a regular at Horace’s, “Horses were getting shoes stolen right off of their hooves in the middle of the night. Not mine, but other folks I heard of. I have dogs on my property, so I wasn’t worried about it.”

It wasn’t just horseshoes being stolen. In Marietta County, rabbit owners were keeping their rabbits inside at night, fearing they would be a target for their feet, which are known for their luck emitting power.

Other products that saw a notable rise in popularity throughout the month include four leaf clovers, unicorn horns, and Lucky Charms breakfast cereal.
